X-ray protection grades in the optibelt ELASTOMIT brand have proven themselves as a reliable form of protection against X-rays of up to 150 kV. The materials are based on a vulcanized rubber matrix, which provides excellent flexibility and minimal residual deformation under mechanical stress.

The cross-linking principle that takes place during the vulcanization process reduces the plasticizer content and minimizes odor. The wide-ranging applications include medicine and veterinary medicine, such as aprons, and X-ray apparatus engineering in the form of X-ray protection curtains.

To ensure sustainability and allow valuable raw materials (metals) to be recovered, X-ray protection material can be heat recycled.
