Engineers‘ Day 2019

What does an engineer actually do? Interested pupils from the Höxter district looked into this question on Engineers' Day.

Hoexter, 11.July 2019. By visiting companies who take part in this event, they got to know the different fields of work and training focuses that are open to engineers.

The participants were able to register in advance with two of their preferred establishments and visit them in turn. We were very pleased with the particularly high number of pupils taking part this year. Compared to last year, three times as many prospective engineers registered to visit Optibelt this year. Divided into two groups, the visitors were able to talk to students from our work-study programme about the Industrial Engineering and Production Technology degree courses. Afterwards, Hauke Bosch from the development department showed them what the work of a design engineer entails. The visit to Optibelt was rounded off with a tour of our test facility.

Engineers’ Day has become a hallmark of the natural environment and technology association “Natur & Technik e.V”. The success story of this event can be seen in particular in the example of the two work-study programme students Leon Grothe and Max Kaiser, who found their way to Optibelt through this event. With this in mind, we are eagerly awaiting the forthcoming start of applications for the work-study programme and are already looking forward to next year’s event.
