Building permit granted: OPTIBELT expands main warehouse in Höxter
Town of Höxter grants building permit for 3,000 square-meter logistics hall
Business development committee welcomes investment in Höxter economy
Höxter, 26 Februar 2015. The business development committee of the town council of Höxter toured the premises of Arntz OPTIBELT on Tuesday evening (24 February 2015). The tour was a symbolic event and an opportunity for Mayor Alexander Fischer to formally present the company with a building permit that the town had officially granted on 9 February 2015 for the expansion of the company’s main warehouse in Höxter.
As he toured the site, Mayor Fischer was clearly very pleased at the company’s growth and its plans to expand its facilities. The development committee meanwhile emphasized that the company’s investment would support and strengthen the Höxter economy.
The group is investing up to €10 million in a new logistics hall to be located on its own 3,000 square-meter property, which was previously home to advertising agency Huxaria. The new building will cover around 2,800 square meters of the property, and construction will begin in April. By mid-October 2015, the company will have a 17-meter-tall building that houses a high rack silo with 9,000 pallet storage spaces and an automated small-parts storage area for 26,000 containers.
Next, the logistics technology will be installed. The project will be completed in June 2016, and regular operations will begin in September 2016. The building will be painted green to match the surrounding landscape.
Konrad Ummen, general manager of the Arntz OPTIBELT Group, says, "We are happy to have received the building permit and are looking forward to the start of construction on the new logistics center. By expanding our storage facilities, we are adding to our main warehouse at the Arntz OPTIBELT Group’s corporate headquarters and optimizing our logistics structures.” Mr Ummen added that he was pleased that the company and the town of Höxter were able to work together so effectively and amicably.
