The high performance belts specially designed for conveying systems supplement the logistics product spectrum of the leading vendor
Höxter, 18th March 2015. Arntz OPTIBELT Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of heavy-duty drive belts, introduced its new “Conveyor Power” series designated specifically for roller conveyor applications in the beginning of this year. The purpose of the “optibelt CONVEYOR POWER RB,” “optibelt CONVEYOR POWER ERB” and the “optibelt CONVEYOR POWER VB S=C Plus” is to enhance the performance of roller conveyors and material conveying systems in distribution centres, for instance.
In the global deployment of conveyor belts, e.g. for parcel transport, the performance of conventional round belts often falls short of the mark, especially when used for curved tracks. Reinhold Mühlbeyer, CEO of Arntz OPTIBELT Gruppe, commented: “The new optibelt CONVEYOR POWER ribbed belts represent a low-cost alternative to a direct drive. Aside from the extremely good power transmission, they come with self-tensioning properties. This dispenses with the need maintenance altogether.” The biggest advantages include the enhanced thermal stability, the optimised flexibility, and the application-specific stress-strain behaviour.
The special designs “optibelt CONVEYOR POWER RB” and “optibelt CONVEYOR POWER ERB” are thermally stable between -30°C and +80°C. The belt tension characteristics of the elastic ribbed belts (ERB) were developed specifically for conveyor belt applications. The belts are available in all standard dimensions. The maintenance-free heavy duty belts are manufactured in Germany and Romania.
“The global upward trend in logistics continues to show a very high momentum, not least because of the expanding e-commerce. While the development effort in Europe and America focuses on the cost and time optimisation of conveying methods in distribution centres, Asia is technologically advancing in the field of material conveying systems. Accordingly, we anticipate high worldwide demand for our high-powered special belts,” said Andreas Klaffner, Head of Business Development & Application Technology.
The new “optibelt CONVEYOR POWER” heavy-duty drive belts will be presented to the public at Stand C 13/1 in Hall 25 at the HANOVER TRADE FAIR 2015 between 13th and 17th April.
